Victorians in the Dragon's Den by Stewart Auty

The approximate running time of this play is 55 minutes.

What a brilliant idea! And it could only have been created by the master of bizarre ideas – Stewart Auty. There were so many inventors in the Victorian era that Stewart thought it would be a good idea if they presented their inventions to the infamous Dragon’s Den television programme.

With apologies to the real television production company but you’ve never seen an episode of Dragon’s Den like it! There are songs, line dancing and arguments but, above all, it’s educational! Even Queen Victoria drops in to have her photo taken. Not only a great performance piece but also a fantastic classroom aid. Running time approximately one hour.

Songs suggested in the script are:

  • Fame
  • If You've Got the Money, I've got the Time
  • Hand Me Down That Can O'Beans
  • I'm Gonna Wash Those Lice Right Outta Your Hair
  • The Runaway Train
  • Please Mr Postman
  • Flash Bang Wallop!

As with all our plays, there are full production notes that give advice on scenery, costume and prop-making.

Backing tracks for the songs suggested in this play can be purchased for a modest amount each from www.ameritz.co.uk or other backing track/karaoke companies in the UK or overseas.
