The well-known story of Dick Whittington. The Playstage re-telling is a cross between a pantomime and a folk story, with a talking cat, rats and singing bells (which could be younger children). Some solo singing as well.

A big cast with 29 speaking/singing parts, Some could be doubled or non-speaking added.
As with all our plays, there are full production notes that give advice on scenery, prop and costume-making.
Poor lad Dick, from the countryside, goes to London to seek fame and fortune. But he is accompanied by his very clever talking cat. Dick is employed by Mr Fitzwarren, a rich merchant, and falls in love with his daughter, Alice. Dick goes to sea to make his fortune which, with the help of his clever cat, he certainly does and all ends happily ever after.
