Gruffed Up! by Paul Cockcroft
£27.00 incl. zero VAT
The approximate running time of this play is 1 hour.
This hysterically funny play starts off at Trevor the Troll’s bridge. Two Billy Goats Gruff come along (there should be three but there have been cutbacks) and Trevor, who obviously hasn’t read the story he is supposed to be a part of, refuses to let them cross his bridge. In fact, he refuses to let anyone cross his bridge. He is one grumpy Troll.
Description
This play is a catalogue of broken fairy tales, mistaken identity and frantic chase sequences. For a start, the Troll thinks that the goats look like sheep, and so does Little Bo Peep, who keeps chasing them. Whereas Goldilocks thinks they look like bears. Jack (of beanstalk fame) thinks the Troll is a Giant, Cinderella thinks Aladdin is Prince Charming, the bears think Cinderella is Goldilocks… the madness goes on and on! The only ones who can sort it all out are The Girls in the Hood (Red Riding’s friends) – the kind of girl gang you would want on your side if there was trouble!
18 speaking parts. You could have more if you used a chorus to come on and sing and dance for each song in the play.
