Another of Paul Cockcroft’s tongue-in-cheek plays! This time it’s the ultimate reality show. 8 contestants from the world of Fairy Tales – split into 2 teams of 4 – “The Has-Beens” and the “Wannabees” – compete fiercely against each other for the chance to revive or change their Fairy tale careers. It’s hard, it’s heart breaking (ever eaten Billy Goat gruff? Don’t even go there!) it will have you cheering for your team and commiserating with the losers. There are also various Fairy Tale celebrities who present the challenges.
Description
It’s hilarious and a cynical look at the whole business of “celebrity” game shows. The two teams of “celebrity” Fairy Tale characters are obsessed with themselves (the Ugly Duckling does a nice line in self-pity) and they cheat whenever they can. Snow White thinks that Cinderella is “just a blinged-up kitchen maid”. The audience will love the challenges. A real show stopper of a play!
This play has 25 speaking parts and 2 non-speaking parts. It runs for approximately 35 minutes.
