How did King Cole become a King? Did you know he was originally Welsh and his name was Co’ell? No, neither did we, but then this play is written by the eccentric Stewart Auty and you have to take his version of things with a pinch of salt!
Description
Co’ell is orphaned and made homeless in one day and decides to become a travelling minstrel (of sorts – more like have karaoke boom box, will travel). His travels lead him to the Land of Whatland and he becomes King due to a bizarre clause in their country’s charter. Filled with songs that you can dance to, and the usual Stewart Auty lashings of awful humour, this is a jolly entertainment, and no mistake. 21 speaking parts. Unlimited number of chorus to sing and be wedding guests and townspeople. Two featured non-speaking parts. Running time approximately 40 minutes.
