The Nut and Pear Job by Janet Hodge
£27.00 incl. zero VAT
The approximate running time of this play is 50 minutes.
Written by our newest eccentric writer, Janet Hodge. (These writers just gravitate towards us – we don’t know why). You know that little nut tree that bears a silver nutmeg and a golden pear? Well, Dingle Dell Nurseries is where it is grown and, wouldn’t you know it, the King of Spain’s daughter just has to come and visit it! That, of course, puts Dame Dock (yes, there is a pantomime dame) in a right dither. Meanwhile a couple of nasty villains are trying to steal the tree…
Description
The King of Subterranea and his daughter, prince Demonia (think Goths – black clothes, pale faces) want to steal the tree but they also decide to kidnap the Spanish Princess and take her to their underground kingdom where all their subjects live in total misery and are condemned to watch EastEnders. (For those overseas schools, please substitute an equally miserable daytime drama from your own television network.) Cue the hapless and hopeless police force, Sargeant Sam and his sidekicks Constables Kyle and Kelly. Daft chases ensue.
Running time of approximately 50 minutes.
