The Snowman’s Christmas Adventure by Janet Hodge
£27.00 incl. zero VAT
The approximate running time of this play is 50 minutes.
A group of children build a snowman and the Fairy Snowmother likes him so much, she casts a spell and brings him to life for the Christmas period. However, this annoys the Wicked Witches of East Siberia and they plot to kidnap the Snowman and melt him! Boo, hiss! Bad girls! Call for daft policemen/women, pirates, penguins and sea captains to come to the rescue! Another quirky pantomime from the pen of Janet Hodge.
Description
The Wicked Witch of Winter entices the Snowman to East Siberia with an invitation to a party. On the way, he meets a Penguin Princess, who decides that she would like to go to the party as well. Her father, the Emperor Penguin is concerned, so he sends one of the Penguins with a Magic Mackerel (no, don’t laugh – it’s an integral part of the plot) in case the Princess gets in to trouble – which of course, she does. We can’t tell you a lot more of the plot because it’s too silly but there is a happy ending. The witches are bad, the rescue attempt is bonkers and the Snowman is lovely but a bit dim. It’s altogether enchanting.
29 speaking parts, 1 non-speaking, unlimited chorus of reindeer, penguins and sea captains. Many parts can be doubled up if you want to use a smaller cast.
