Running time approximately 40 minutes.

Description

In a clever start to this play, some children in the present day are exploring an old building when they find a box containing the wartime memories of a young girl who was evacuated during WW2. The audience is then transported back to 1940 and they see the trials and tribulations of several children evacuated from the big cities to unfamiliar countryside. Some were lucky and were placed with caring families. Others were not so lucky and were treated like unpaid servants. Nevertheless, this is an upbeat play. Some farmyard puppetry. The play has a few suggested songs.

Links are given to suggested images, music and sound effects.

28 speaking parts plus Chicken Puppeteers and 2 Cows, plus non-speaking cast who could join in the songs.

Some changes of scenery are required but, as with all our plays, we give you full production notes that give you advice on scenery, props and costumes.
